I saw where you noted the the King line was passed on thru the mother. There is a book called North American Sun Kings Keepers of the Falme by Mahan. It starts out about the Euchee indian but talks about other tribes and their relationships and the King line being passed thru the mother. It also gives other customs and beliefs. Writing and symbols and tracing them back further. How some early explorers said many of these tribes were actually lost tribes of Israel. Some parts of the book were pretty interesting.

I feel you are right & worng in your staement. The coastal Indians Were part of the society/culture of the greater Algnonquian people and they May Not Have been exact DNa twins to the western, northern or southern Algonquian people. To me it like the tip of an iceberg that we are seeing, there is much more to understand about the society that existed here before these last whites came (especially the British who rewrote history for our people willy-nilly & restructied whole groups fo people to suit their commercial & political plans).

Darryl,

Regarding the August 3, 1733 deed to John from Thomas Hoyter and other Chowan Indians for 200 acrs on Catherine Creek Swamp, I have information that the purchase price was actually "120 pounds current money." Was there another deed for other land with no price?
